Double action
The air pistons or air cylinders, are essential components in an air operated system. Their function is that they accept air and with the application of pressure they receive, the piston moves in one direction producing energy in the form of linear movement and returns with the use of a spring or the application of an external force such as a spring.
Pistons are divided into:
–Single acting pistons
–Double acting pistons
– Pistons of special specifications (double axis, non-rotating axis, etc.)
Simple action pistons are those that produce work in the form of linear movement only when they move in one direction and their return is made by a spring or by the weight of the structure.
Dual energy pistons are those that produce energy moving in both directions
The pistons of special specifications include the manifold support, short stroke & double non-rotating shaft. These are used on special occasions.
